Each year, Plymouth Round Table organises two 10Km runs, one in January (January Jaunt) and the other in March (Mad March Hare), in aid of local charities, with every penny raised being used for good causes. Each race attracts between 250 and 400 runners ranging from affiliated club runners to casual entries, with an out and back route through Saltram from the start (and finish) at the Plymouth Speedway track, St. Boniface Arena in Plympton.
The January Jaunt was held on the on Sunday 11th January 2015 (which gave everyone a chance to re-cover from the New Year!) and 13 Bere Alston Trekkers (Bats) took part in this event which is the first race on the clubs Grand Prix 2015 calendar. This was the first event for club member Jade Alford (who was supported by her husband Simon) in a BATs vest and a total of five personal bests for the distance!
First male Bat home was Steve Hill who continues to train hard and improve his times, first lady Bat was Lisa Birch who ran a really great time. Well done to all Bats taking part in this event and a round of applauds to those who ran a personal best.
Team Bat January Jaunt 2015 are pictured with their provisional times (left to right) back row: Mike Smith 47.30 (PB), Jade Alford 1.08.49, Suzanne Treussard 1.01.49, Lisa Birch 55.46, Hilary Head 1.11.42 (PB), Dan Dooney 45.49, Emma Dooney 59.00, Ali Greaves 59.09 (PB) and Steve Hill 41.59.
